Inclusive Design
While consulting with a creative team new to digital execution, I was asked to put together a lunch-and-learn session to help these designers understand how to apply accessibility standards to their work. I reframed the request in terms of inclusivity, proving that these principles aren’t a barrier to creativity, but foundational to good design. This training session introduced how accessibility standard apply on web, email and social channels.
UX Philosophy
Working across different clients in an agency setting reveals a variety of perceptions of how user experience fits with business culture. I’ve always felt strongly that UX should be grounded in strategy and integrated through execution. While a measure of flexibility and adaptation goes a long way, this deck is a codification of the principles and practices that enabled my team to deliver value to our clients.
Mezcal: Investigating Flavor
Leo Leaps is a program offered via Leo Burnett and the Experience Institute that guides participants through exploring a passion project by using design thinking, storytelling and entrepreneurial skills. As an ardent cocktail connoisseur, I set out to explore the psychology and language of flavor and see if I could develop my palette over the program’s seven week duration. This video captures my experience, using mezcal as a foundation for exploration.

UX in the Fintech Space
Fintech is an area that’s generally outside the scope of my day-to-day projects. I decided to stretch beyond my comfort zone to understand how start-ups and established financial entities are finding success in consumer-facing financial applications. Based on comprehensive secondary research, it became clear to me that human-centered design is critical to connect the dots between innovation and success.
The Gaming Landscape
Gaming is a rapidly evolving landscape that changes as quickly as emerging technologies will allow. While I may enjoy throwing on an Oculus VR headset today, it’s amusing to look back ten years at what the casual game landscape looked like and how differently games fit into the advertising toolkit then. This IXDA presentation surveys the casual landscape and showcases the virtual world we’d built for kids to engage with Burger King.
